The 2003 Huskies played an intensive schedule this
weekend at the 2012 Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Reebok Classic, where nine divisions
and 110 teams were listed to compete at ten different venues across the city of
Hamilton. In the smallest of all
participating divisions, the Huskies battled through five games of round robin
play in two days, and while most games were decided by a single goal, the
Huskies’ tournament streak improved as the tournament went on, eventually
earning them a well-deserved spot in the finals on day three. In a competitive match-up and second tourney
encounter between both finalists, Hamilton persevered through the opening period
to maintain an even score, but the second saw the Mississauga Senators take over
a lead that through the remainder of the game could not be overtaken. Nonetheless, the 9AAA Huskies competed
confidently and stood out this weekend as the sole finalists from their
organization, proving to each opponent as well as to the countless fans in
attendance that their heart is a big as might, while participating with
sportsmanship and promise as they represented their team proudly in their local
community
